Reservation and cancellation policy

ORGANIZATION OF ACTIVITIES
Jaakkola Reindeer Farm offers guided farm visits, reindeer safaris, and restaurant services exclusively by advance booking, according to our weekly schedule. We do not have regular opening hours, and all activities are organized only for customers who have booked in advance. Spontaneous visits without a booking are generally not possible. Please contact us to check availability if you plan to join at short notice.
MAKING A RESERVATION
All individual bookings are made via our online store. Reservations become effective immediately upon payment, and the customer will automatically receive a receipt and reservation confirmation by e-mail.
If no reservation confirmation is received, the booking has not been completed, or an incorrect e-mail address may have been provided. In such a case, the customer must contact us to verify the reservation.
PAYMENT
All individual bookings in the online store must be paid at the time of booking.
For group or private bookings outside the online store, payment is normally made via invoice or a credit card payment link sent with the confirmation. Cash payment on-site is only possible if no other payment method succeeds in advance. In such a case, the customer is equally bound by the reservation and cancellation policy automatically.
Non-payment does not constitute a cancellation, but we reserve the right to cancel any booking not paid by the due date.
GROUP RESERVATIONS
A booking is valid for the number of persons stated at the time of reservation. The person making a group reservation is solely responsible for the entire booking and must inform us of any changes in the number of participants or if the reservation needs to be canceled. The person making a reservation must be over 18 years of age.
CANCELLATIONS
If a customer cannot use a confirmed reservation, it must be canceled immediately by e-mail to info@jaakkolareindeerfarm.com.
Cancellations are valid only when received in writing during Finnish office hours, by 16:00 local time. Phone calls, text messages, WhatsApp, Messenger, or other communication channels are not considered valid for cancellation.
In cases of illness, the same cancellation policy applies as in regular cancellations. COVID-19 and travel restrictions are not considered “Force Majeure” events. Customers should ensure their travel insurance covers costs in case of sudden illness, injury, or death of a close relative or travel party member.
Late cancellations may incur the following charges:
- Reservations can be canceled free of charge no later than 7 days before the event. In the case of refundable reservations paid in advance, €30 will be withhold for administrative expenses.
NO-SHOW AND DELAYS
Customers are responsible for arriving on time according to the activity schedule. We recommend arriving at the meeting point 10 minutes before departure.
We reserve the right to charge the full price for no-shows. Arriving more than 10 minutes late is considered a no-show. Please, note that if you arrive 1 pm. and your tour starts at 1 pm, you are already 10 minutes late.
RESPONSIBILITY AND CANCELLATIONS BY THE SERVICE PROVIDER
Jaakkola Reindeer Farm operates in accordance with Finnish laws and safety standards. All participants must follow safety instructions provided by the service provider.
We reserve the right to modify the tour content or duration of activities if necessary to ensure safety. In the event of a Force Majeure, we will do our best to offer alternative activities or dates or refund 100% of the cancelled reservation.
DISPUTES
If you are dissatisfied with the service or have concerns, please inform our staff immediately at the location. We will do our best to resolve disputes and consider any compensation.
